HARMONY & CONTRASTS
Growing up with my dad's big photo interest, I realized early on that it is behind and not in front of the camera I like best. I am a photographer who is attracted and captivated by, stillness, contrasts and asymmetrical symmetry. Photo is my meditation and I can sit for hours to capture the right feeling in the picture. Often I am out early in the morning, preferably before the sun rises, when it is completely still and everything comes to life. My wish is for the viewer to find peace in my pictures and to bring some of my experience home.

When Lisa Ryd-Carlsson photographs, it is with a sense of and a fascination for nature in general and the Nordic landscape in particular. The longing for the sea and the four elements are constantly present.
Lisa Ryd-Carlsson was born in 1977 and educated at the Photography School of Gotland, but resides in Gothenburg.
